Pulaski, VA, January, 2014 –LewisGale Hospital Pulaski recently held a special Christmas luncheon to thank its volunteers and chaplains for sharing the gift of their time. In 2013 alone, more than 50 volunteers donated countless hours providing services to patients, their families and guests.
The luncheon included gifts and a special performance by the Pulaski County High School Beginning Concert Choir directed by Angela Talbert.
“Our volunteers play a critical role in improving the patients’ hospital experience,” said Jana Beckner, Director of Human Resources and Volunteer Services. “Your time is one of your most valuable assets and to give it to someone in need is truly a priceless gift. We are thankful to have such a great group of volunteers and chaplains.”
LewisGale Hospital Pulaski always welcomes the opportunity for new volunteers and chaplains. Volunteers serve in a variety of ways at the hospital from working the front desk to delivering flowers and visiting with patients. They also receive a few perks include a free meal per 3-hours shift works, an annual complimentary flu shot, and free volunteer jacket.
