Low Moor, VA, October 2013– For the third year in a row, LewisGale Hospital Alleghany has been named one of the nation’s Top Performers on Key Quality Measures™ by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of healthcare organizations in America. The hospital is one of only 182 U.S. hospitals to earn this distinction every year, since The Joint Commission started publishing its report in 2011.
“To continually be singled out as one of the nation’s Top Performers is a testament to our commitment to provide high-quality, evidence-based care that’s linked to better patient outcomes,” said Greg Madsen, CEO, LewisGale Hospital Alleghany. “I want to commend our physicians and staff or their ongoing commitment to clinical excellence.”
The Joint Commission recognized LewisGale Hospital Alleghany for achieving excellence in performance on its accountability measures during 2012 for pneumonia and surgical care.
Out of the more 3,300 hospitals submitting 2012 accountability measures data to The Joint Commission, LewisGale Hospital Alleghany was one of only 1099 to meet or exceed the targeted rates of performance.
In addition to being included in The Joint Commission’s “Improving America’s Hospitals” annual report, LewisGale Hospital Alleghany is recognized on The Joint Commission’s Quality Check website, qualitycheck.org.
