Salem, VA, October 2013– LewisGale Medical Center has been named one of the nation’s Top Performers on Key Quality Measures™ by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of healthcare organizations in America.

The Joint Commission recognized LewisGale Medical Center for achieving excellence in performance on its accountability measures during 2012 for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care..
Out of the more 3,300 hospitals submitting 2012 accountability measures data to The Joint Commission, LewisGale Medical Center was one of only 1099 to meet or exceed the targeted rates of performance.
In addition to being included in The Joint Commission’s “Improving America’s Hospitals” annual report, LewisGale Medical Center is recognized on The Joint Commission’s Quality Check website, qualitycheck.org.
