President's Message

This is an exciting time for HCA Southwest Virginia! We’ve launched a new name for our healthcare network – LewisGale Regional Health System. This new name – with its familiar feel thanks to a heritage dating back more than 100 years to when Drs. Lewis and Gale began caring for their neighbors – will be seen on all of our hospitals, employed physician practices, and outpatient centers throughout the region by the end of this year.

Today our network stretches from Alleghany Highlands and Rockbridge County to the Roanoke and New River Valleys. Our founders’ original vision has grown to include four hospitals, six outpatient centers, two cancer centers and nearly 700 employed and independent physicians of every discipline imaginable – all with an unparalleled commitment to high quality service, compassionate care, and the well-being of our neighbors.

With this growth came the opportunity to develop an integrated healthcare system, and three years ago we made the commitment to build such a system. Today, through closely aligned patient-care facilities and collaboration among physicians and staff, we’ve evolved into a regional health system reaching new heights in clinical excellence and consistently ranking among the top in the nation for patient care. Our commitment to providing great care that puts our patients first, including treatments proven to get the best results, ensures that each will have access to the right physician and the right facility, at the right time.

I encourage you to explore for yourself – both through the pages of this site and in person at one of our facilities – nothing is more important to us than meeting the needs and surpassing the expectations of every patient who enters one of our facilities.
