Our Kind of Person - Teode Andrade
The United States is truly a land of opportunity. But it can also be an intimidating place for those moving here from far away lands. Just ask Lewis-Gale Medical Center employee Teode Andrade. In July, 1983, she moved from the Philippines to Salem, Virginia, to continue her career in nursing. Lewis-Gale employees helped her get settled in her new apartment, and today Teode returns that favor by helping other foreign nurses as they join our staff. Whether it’s finding a place to live, shopping for food and supplies, or just sharing a laugh, Teode knows that when you have a friend by your side, you’re always at home.
They say that the greatest gift of all is the gift of true friendship from one person to another. We know, because we see it every day at Lewis-Gale Medical Center. And that’s what makes Teode Andrade our kind of people.
