The Advanced Wound Center at LewisGale Medical Center is a comprehensive program for the treatment of chronic, non-healing wounds. The center combines the area’s most advanced technology with a highly trained professional staff uniquely qualified to enhance the care provided by the patient’s personal physician.

The Advanced Wound Center team offers individualized plans and treatments to optimize the healing of wounds due to:

The Referral Process

Physicians and other healthcare providers may refer patients to the Advanced Wound Center at LewisGale by calling 540.776.4446. Patients may also refer themselves. After the referral, the patient is scheduled for an evaluation at the center. From the initial assessment, an individualized plan of care is developed. Periodic progress reports are returned to the referring physician. We work closely with home health agencies, long-term care providers, and workman’s compensation groups to coordinate.
