Video with Most Votes Wins $10,000 to Donate to a Breast Cancer Charity
Salem, VA, September, 2015 – LewisGale Regional Health System is asking for the public’s support to win a national contest aimed at raising money for breast cancer awareness and research. LewisGale is the only healthcare system in Virginia competing in the National Pink Glove Dance Competition.
This is the third time a LewisGale hospital has entered the competition, each time it has placed in the top 10. “We are hoping the third time is a charm,” said Amy Woods, Assistant Chief Nursing Office, LewisGale Medical Center. “With the community’s support I believe we will win this year. But it is more than just about winning, for us it is about raising money to support breast cancer survivors in our community.”
To create the video the hospital enlisted the help of Salem Fire-EMS and the Salem police department, Floyd Ward School of Dance, and numerous hospital employees from many departments. A portion of the video was also filmed at the LewisGale Field home of the Salem Red Sox. The participants danced to Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars.
The video with the most votes wins $10,000 to donate to a breast cancer charity. LewisGale has designated the Virginia Blue Ridge Affiliate of Susan G. Komen Virginia as its charity.
The public can watch the video and vote by clicking here. Voting ends September 23. Each person can vote once per day per email account.
