Emergency room services at LewisGale Medical Center

We offer compassionate emergency care for patients across Roanoke and Salem, Virginia. Our facility houses a FastTrack ER in our main ER for life's less critical emergencies.

The ER at LewisGale Medical Center is recognized as an Accredited Chest Pain Center by the American College of Cardiology and a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission, in collaboration with the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. This means we always provide fast, expert care for incoming heart attack and stroke patients.

Emergency room visitor information

The ER at LewisGale Medical Center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our FastTrack ER is open from 11am - 11pm. If the FastTrack ER is closed, you will be assisted through the main ER.

Getting to the ER

Our ER is located on the right side of the hospital. You may park in the main parking lot outside of the ER. We also offer free valet during daytime hours.

Once you arrive inside the hospital, you may check-in at the kiosk, and one of our staff members will guide you to your next steps. Please bring an ID and your insurance card.

Emergency care at LewisGale Regional Health System

Emergency care is the treatment of emergent medical conditions. It is generally performed in an emergency room, but can also refer to treatment in an ambulance. Emergency medicine physicians may treat patients with injuries or infections, in addition to life-threatening conditions.
