Our gynecological services

We understand that seeking gynecological care is an intimate experience. Our doctors work to make you as comfortable as possible, whether you come to us for a routine exam or a specialized treatment. We aim to empower you by providing comprehensive healthcare that helps you take charge of your wellness.

Wellness exams and family planning

Our providers prioritize helping you manage and maintain your health. At your annual wellness visit, we will monitor for forms of gynecologic cancers, perform breast exams, and provide a space to discuss your overall health.

We also provide family planning services, from helping you explore birth control options to pursuing conception strategies. We want to empower you to make informed decisions about your body and your health.

Gynecologic cancers

Finding early signs of cancer is key to effective treatment. During your annual exam, your doctor may perform a Pap test (or Pap smear). This routine procedure looks for cell changes on the cervix that might become cervical cancer if they are not treated appropriately. If needed, your doctor might also recommend a biopsy, which involves removing a sample of your tissue to test for cancerous cells.

If you're diagnosed with a form of gynecologic cancer, such as cervical, endometrial, ovarian or uterine cancer, you will receive comprehensive care at our hospitals. Some treatment options may include surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

Urogynecological treatments

We also offer urogynecology services, a specialized field of gynecology and obstetrics that treats the bladder and muscles of the female pelvic floor. A weakened or damaged pelvic floor can cause:

  • Difficult or painful intercourse
  • Difficulty urinating or having bowel movements
  • Fecal incontinence
  • Pelvic organ prolapse
  • Protruding bulge or lump
  • Stretching or pulling sensation in the groin
  • Urinary incontinence
  • Vaginal pain, pressure or bleeding

Our specialists will work with you to evaluate the severity of your condition and design a treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals. Some conditions, like mild incontinence or pelvic floor prolapse, can be treated with physical therapy to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles. Some conditions may require a minimally invasive procedure, including reconstructive gynecological surgery.

Minimally invasive gynecological surgery

Our specialists are dedicated to providing minimally invasive surgical options for a wide range of gynecological and urogynecological conditions. Minimally invasive procedures can be performed through small incisions. This can benefit patients by resulting in reduced postoperative pain, less scarring, less blood loss and a quicker recovery.

Many of these procedures are robot-assisted. By using robotic technology, our surgeons can access complex structures in hard-to-reach areas, such as those in the pelvic region, with extreme precision.

We offer the following gynecological surgery procedures:

  • Burch urethropexy
  • Endometriosis treatment
  • Excessive menstrual bleeding treatment
  • Hysterectomy
  • Myomectomy
  • Pelvic floor repair
  • Pelvic reconstruction
  • Perineorrhaphy
  • Sacral neuromodulation
  • Sacrocolpopexy
  • Tubal ligation reversal
  • Tubal recanalization
  • Uterine fibroid embolization (UFE)
