When patients experience behavioral or mental health conditions, our multidisciplinary team at LewisGale Medical Center is here to offer compassionate treatment and support services. We provide inpatient and outpatient programs for patients in a safe and secure environment that fosters healing and recovery.

Mental health services
We offer both inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services to individuals who are 13 years old and older. We offer:
- Inpatient mental health care
- Drug and alcohol detoxification
- Intensive outpatient programs for adults
Visiting our behavioral health clinic
In order to facilitate an environment of recovery, we have specified times that visitors' may come to see their loved ones. We offer the following visiting hours:
Adolescent visiting hours: Tuesday and Thursdays from 6:30pm - 8pm and Saturday and Sunday from 12:30pm - 2pm.
Adult visiting hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6pm - 7:30pm.
When you visit the behavioral health clinic, be sure to bring a valid ID and know the room number and doctor's name of the patient you are visiting. We also ask that you do not bring food, drinks or any tobacco products to the facility. Any item you bring for the patient needs to be approved by our staff.
Please keep in mind that all visitors must be on the visitors list. No more than three visitors are allowed at a time.
Our behavioral health clinic location
The behavioral health clinic is located at 1902 Braeburn Drive in Salem, Virginia, on the first floor. When you arrive, please check-in at the front desk. You will be asked to place all of your belongings in a locker and undergo a metal detector test before entering the facility.
