Children with ear infections almost always have a true fever, greater than 100.4. Without the fever, it is likely viral or something else. They also tend to be fussy, have decreased appetites, and sometimes have nausea and vomiting. A common symptom is pulling on their ear, but this does not necessarily mean they have an ear infection. According to the National Institutes of Health, five out of six children will have at least one ear infection by their third birthday. In fact, ear infections are one of the most common reasons parents bring their child to the doctor. Our office welcomes children of all ages. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.
