Absolutely, we can care for you! LewisGale Hospital Montgomery is the first hospital in the New River Valley to have a Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) program. Since 2007, we’ve offered this life-saving care to our patients.

We know that when a heart attack occurs time is muscle. It is critical we get the narrowed or blocked artery open as quickly as possible to restore adequate blood flow to the heart. PCI is a quick, minimally invasive method of opening an artery. A balloon, and many times a miniature stent, is placed to keep the artery open. LewisGale Hospital Montgomery has performed more than 200 emergency PCI procedures and almost 300 elective PCI procedures since we started our program.
